While getting pregnant can be easy for many women, it can be very difficult for some. Women who haven’t been able to conceive right away may feel frustrated and hopeless. They want to have a baby so much, but they can’t seem to get pregnant. If you are someone who is having trouble getting pregnant, try to keep a positive attitude.

Maintain a Healthy Weight

Being overweight or underweight can make it more difficult for you to get pregnant. To get pregnant sooner, you must try to maintain a healthy weight. If you are overweight, start filling your diet with healthier foods, and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. If you are underweight, you should start eating more. However, do not just fill your diet with junk food. Eat larger amounts of fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry and whole grains.

Pay Attention to What You Drink

Drinking too many caffeinated beverages and alcohol can impair your fertility. If you are a coffee drinker, try not to drink more than one or two cups each day. Also, keep your alcohol intake to a minimum. It is best to mostly drink water if you are trying to get pregnant.

Have Sex Before Ovulation

To increase your chances of getting pregnant, you should have sex two or three days before ovulation. After you ovulate, your egg will only survive for about 24 hours.

Keep Your Stress Levels Under Control

Being overly stressed can decrease your chances of becoming pregnant. If something in your life is stressing you out, you must deal with it head on. Some other ways you can reduce your stress levels include exercising, writing in journals, getting massages, listening to music and doing yoga.

Seek Professional Help

If you have been trying to get pregnant for a year and have not had success, you should consider setting up an appointment with your doctor. Bring your partner with you to your appointment, so he can offer support. A doctor can evaluate you to make sure you are able to get pregnant, and he can suggest ways to increase your chances of getting pregnant. For example, he can recommend egg donation. With egg donation, another woman will donate her eggs to help you with reproduction.
