Causes of Stomach Cramps
Cramp is a painful, spasmodic muscular contraction and when the term is applied to stomach region, it is called stomach cramp. Stomach cramp is always described as sudden and sharp pain originating in the abdominal cavity. The pain elsewhere in the region of abdomen is denoted as stomach cramp.
All of the humans are having the stomach cramp experience several times of the life and nobody is able to avoid it. This is caused by a sudden and forcible contraction of one or several muscles of the stomach or the intestinal portion.
The pain is felt in some people for a very short time and disappears spontaneously and it is called the acute form of pain. In others, it is felt for a longer period but with sharp pain and it is denoted as chronic form.
When the pain is shorter in time and mild in its form, everybody ignores and does not think about the causes. Whereas when it appears for a longer period with sharp pain, it affects the sufferer’s day to day normal activities.
Hence, he or she tries to find out the causes of the stomach cramp and treatment.
There are several reasons for the stomach cramp. Some of the stomach cramps are ignorable having no serious or important causes. Examples are heavy work given to stomach muscles in the case of exercise, overeating, gas accumulation (flatulence) in the stomach or intestinal areas, unusual work involving stomach muscles.
